Presented to a company that exhibits true business excellence. This company has advanced in economic and/or financial growth through sales/earnings and financial management. They excel in quality customer/client service, are a leader in employment creation, seek to continuously improve employee relations and are prominently involved in community affairs.
 
Must be in business for more than 5 years.
 
Business Excellence - Medium (7 - 25 employees)
Presented to a company that exhibits true business excellence. This company has advanced in economic and/or financial growth through sales/earnings and financial management. They excel in quality customer/client service, are a leader in employment creation, seek to continuously improve employee relations and are prominently involved in community affairs.
 
Must be in business for more than 5 years.
 
Business Excellence - Large (26+ employees)
Presented to a company that exhibits true business excellence. This company has advanced in economic and/or financial growth through sales/earnings and financial management. They excel in quality customer/client service, are a leader in employment creation, seek to continuously improve employee relations and are prominently involved in community affairs.
 
Must be in business for more than 5 years.
 
Customer Service
Presented to a business that is committed to high standards of customer service. This company delivers exceptional service in their dealings with customers and educates and encourages their staff to improve and excel in matters of customer relations. This company also strives to improve the customer experience within their business through communications, problem solving and innovation.
 
Environmental Stewardship
Presented to the company or organization that best exemplifies environmentally sustainable operations through their normal course of business and in day-to-day operations. For example:
  • Reduce waste
  • Reduce energy use
  • New technology
  • Promotion of environmental issues within the company/organization

 

Looking Good
Presented to a business or organization that have completed renovations or restored a property or building that already exists within the last two years (January 2010-January 2012) and the improvements of this property have shown a positive impact on its surrounding community.
 
New Business Excellence
Presented to a new locally owned business that has been operating for at least two years but within five years and that has demonstrated innovation, vision, employment creation and business growth prospects.
 
Not for Profit Excellence
This award is presented to the organization that exemplifies excellence and innovation in their programs, projects, and partnerships. Their commitment to growth and expanded programs, as well as service, community involvement, sustainable practices and/or job creation/development demonstrates a dedicated focus on achieving their vision and mandate.
 
Quality of Life
Presented to a business or organization for outstanding contribution to the quality of life of a person, group or organization in our community.
Strategic Leadership in Diversity
Presented to a business or non-profit who has infused, awarded and appreciated cultural diversity and global perspective into the work environment. Created a Welcoming environment to promote a diverse workforce at all levels.

Strategic Partnership

Presented to two or more companies/organizations who have successfully engaged in collaboration to create a new initiative or service, or enhanced the business offerings or operations of the parties. Successful strategic partnerships utilize other company's strengths to make both firms stronger in the long run.
 
The nominated companies for the award cannot be have common ownership.

Businesses and organizations that deliver exceptional visitor experiences play a vital role in raising the profile of the community as a premier destination of choice for leisure, corporate, and sport guests.
