Initiatives

 

The Chamber Education Committee meets monthly to discuss a wide range of topics relevant to education in the community and amongst its members. Some current initiatives include the following:

 

Future Entrepreneurs Program
A pilot launch of the program is planned for the Fall of 2010 in the secondary schools in Thunder Bay

 

Education Committee Website
Provide a website of resources for members, students and teachers to access information relevant to advancing education

 

Educational Opportunities
Provide members with information on educational opportunities within the community

 

Scholarships and Awards
Promote the secondary school scholarship program and the post-secondary entrepreneurial spirit award

 

Promote a student friendly culture for members and the community

 

Promote the use of a Career Pathways Video developed for the Chamber by Confederation College to highlight various career paths for students.

 

Career Studies Program at Secondary School
Support the Grade 10 Career Studies courses offered by all school boards
