TBXI (Thunder Bay Xerographix Inc) was first incorporated in 2006 by present owner Dave Grady. In 2006, TBXI’s primary business was the sale of Xerox equipment in Thunder Bay. TBXI originally had 2 employees and annual revenues of approx. 300K. From 2006-2010, TBXI continued with the sale of Xerox equipment in Thunder Bay and continued to grow revenue year over year through excellent customer service and unparalleled persistence.
In 2010, TBXI made the leap to expand into offering network IT service and sales in Thunder Bay. By continuing the philosophy of ensuring the best in customer service, TBXI was able to grow revenue in this new market. As a result, TBXI had 9 employees at the end of 2010.
In Jan 2011, TBXI allowed James Tomlinson (an employee and manager of IT at TBXI) to slowly buy into the company. This was done to ensure James was able to reach his potential. TBXI believes that employees should be rewarded for their efforts and that extraordinary employees should be allowed the right to join management and ownership roles if they choose. This mindset ensures that younger employees stay with the company, and in the city of Thunder Bay. Tenure of these employees also ensure that TBXI meets its objectives of excellent customer service.
From 2011 to 2013 TBXI grew revenue in Xerox sales, IT sales and service and decided once again to grow by taking on more geography for sales and service. The first expansion in 2011 was to cover through the Greenstone area, Marathon and Manitouwadge. The second expansion in 2012 was to cover NW Ontario through to the Manitoba border. These expansions grew revenue to over 1.5M per year and grew TBXI employee count to over 16.
In June of 2013, through the leadership of Dave Grady and James Tomlinson, TBXI decided to again expand and offer customer the ability to purchase office supplies and furnishings through The Office Suppliers (a TBXI company). This expansion brought about additional revenues of 600K per year and 3 additional employees.
Growth from TBXI has 100 percent come because the TBXI team always works together to strive for our goal of delivering excellent customer service. We have a work hard, play hard attitude and treat our employees as a family rather than employees.
