Funding supports workers and businesses across Northern Ontario
The Government of Canada has announced an additional $22.3 million for FedNor to help businesses and organizations in Northern Ontario recover from the impacts of COVID-19.
Out of the additional funds for Northern Ontario, $6 million will be provided to the region’s Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) to target businesses in rural communities.
Businesses and organizations in Northern Ontario that have applied for, but were unable to get access to sufficient relief from other federal COVID-19 programs, are encouraged to review RRRF eligibility requirements for more information.
In Northern Ontario, FedNor was originally allocated a total of $49.5 million through RRRF. Today’s announcement brings the total RRRF funding for Northern Ontario businesses and organizations to $71.8 million.
