Spotlight on Arts and Culinary: About our AGM Hosts

The AG and Pinetree Catering

This year we chose a venue rich with culture and creativity – the Thunder Bay Art Gallery. With a focus on the contemporary artwork of Canadian Aboriginal and Northwestern Ontario artists, it is the only public art gallery in Northwestern Ontario. We wanted to take this opportunity to expose one of Thunder Bay’s gems and enhance the importance of the educational value this venue has to offer. Expect to be “wowed” by the innovative work of the artists and soak in an uplifting experience. For those who have never had the opportunity to visit, now is the time to do so!

Working with a nontraditional venue like The AG also gives us a chance to showcase one of our caterer Members – we’re looking forward to an amazing spread from Pinetree Catering, a company passionate about raising the bar on both local food and the fine details that can turn an event from great to glorious.  Come with an appetite, and plan to match the beautiful visual experience of the Thunder Bay Art Gallery with beautiful food.  The cocktail reception menu includes about a dozen tiny-plate dishes and finger foods ranging from light items like Candied Ginger Cucumber Cups and Mini Spanikopita to heartier Grilled Steak & Confit Potato Stacks.  Mmm-mm!

Our hosting arrangements provide the perfect counterpoint to our keynote speech.  This year, come prepared to be inspired as Thunder Bay-born Sean Speer returns from his post in Toronto to talk about the challenges of today’s business environment, how we’ve arrived here, and how we can rebuild the case for enterprise in the eyes of the public and our policy-makers’.
