A temporary wage subsidy has been announced for small businesses for 3 months, equal to 10% of remuneration paid during that period, up to a maximum subsidy of $1375 per employee and $25,000 per employer.  Eligibility for this subsidy includes employers that are eligible for the small business deduction as well as not-for-profits and charities. The subsidy will be applied immediately to eligible payroll remittances.

The EI Work-Sharing Program provides benefits to workers who agree to reduce their normal working hours.  Eligibility to this program has been increased and access is being streamlined.
