Restrict-Orange Level Requires Extra Diligence

December 7, 2020

TBDHU has seen a significant rise in the number of positive COVID-19 cases in our region over the last few weeks. Employers play a big part in keeping our communities safe. We encourage you to ensure that your workplace is doing everything possible to protect workers, clients and customers from this virus.

On Monday, December 7th, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit region moved into the Restrict-Orange level of the COVID-19 Response Framework: Keeping Ontario Safe and Open.  Be aware of what changes may apply to your workplace by reviewing the framework and Ontario Regulation 364/20: Rules for Areas in Stage 3. It is each employer’s responsibility to ensure that the workplace fully meets the requirements of the designated level.

Employee Screening is required for ALL workplaces – see the workplace screening tool here  This should also be used where patron screening is required under the Restrict-Orange level framework.

Retail businesses should continue to ensure that the patron screening poster is in place at public entrances.

Safety Plans are required for higher risk settings but are best practice for all businesses – find a helpful Safety Plan guide here
