U.S. Tariffs on Products Imported from Canada

USMCA compliant goods: 0% tariff

Non-USMCA compliant goods: 25% tariff

Non-USMCA compliant energy and potash: 10% tariff

Steel & Aluminum: 25% tariff

Automobiles: 25% tariff (The non-U.S. content of the automobile shall be calculated by subtracting the value of the U.S. content in an automobile from the total value of the automobile)

Announced April 3, 2025:

25% tariffs on non-CUSMA compliant fully assembled vehicles imported into Canada from the United States.

25% tariffs on non-Canadian and non-Mexican content of CUSMA compliant fully assembled vehicles imported into Canada from the United States.

Canada’s intention to develop a framework for auto producers that incentivizes production and investment in Canada. Most importantly, every single dollar raised from these tariffs will go directly to support our auto workers.
